In 2000, Canada set up the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) as an independent agency operating "within the ambit" of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and its regulations. Since then, FINTRAC has introduced a necessarily complex system of security measures, record keeping, and reporting, with which everyone in the financial system must comply.
This 12-hour CE course will describe the problems; lay out the safeguards, practices, and responsibilities that should be observed; and help you to make sure your practice is FINTRAC-compliant.
